Raw Chocolate Truffles


  • 150g (1 cup) just ripe avocado
  • 1/4 cup date paste (90g) (I use Medjool dates) or half a cup (90g) pitted Medjool dates
  • 1 tbsp honey (maple syrup or coconut nectar for vegan option)
  • 1/4 cup (30g) raw cacao powder
  • Seeds from one vanilla pod or 1 tsp pure vanilla extract (sugar free!)
  • 2 tbsp (28g) coconut oil melted
  • 2 tbsp (28g) raw cacao butter melted
  • 2 tbsp raw cacao powder to coat


  1. Blend dates to a smooth paste if you haven’t already in your food processor.
  2. Blend together avocado and dates until smooth. Add in melted cacao butter and oil. Once smooth add in cacao powder and vanilla seeds.
  3. Once mixture is a smooth paste place in a bowl and pop in to the fridge to chill for a couple of hours or overnight. Remove and roll in to balls. Toss in raw cacao powder and serve immediately or store in the fridge for up to 5 days.
